Peer Review Process
Contemporary Education Studies employs a transparent, fair, and rigorous peer-review system to ensure the highest standards in scholarly publishing.
Each paper sent to the journal goes through an editorial screening and then it is subjected for an independent double-blind peer review.
Editorial Evaluation
The first step for the editorial office is to review each submission to check that it :
- Falls within the journal's scope
- Meets formatting and submission requirements
- Complies with publication ethics
- Demonstrates sufficient academic quality for peer review
Manuscripts failing these requirements tend to get back to the authors for a revision before their peer review or may simply be rejected.
Double-Blind Peer Review
The Contemporary Education Studies has a double-blind peer-review process, by which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous during the review process. This way authors and reviewers are not biased, and the work is evaluated objectively and fairly.
Generally, a manuscript that is eligible to be considered is subjected to reviews of at least two independent experts in that area.
Review Criteria
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
- Originality and innovation
- Contribution to educational knowledge
- Research methodology
- Data analysis and interpretation
- Academic significance
- Ethical compliance
- Clarity and quality of presentation
- Validity of conclusions
- Quality and relevance of references
Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned handling editor may issue one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Accept with Minor Revisions
- Major Revisions Required
- Reject
Authors receiving revision requests are expected to address reviewer comments thoroughly before resubmitting their manuscripts for further editorial consideration.
